The luminous wood

1976, production of the first wood cutouts subjected to the power of light and its occurrence. They are designed as actual sculptures in space. They project shadows on the wall where they are hung, coming from their own illumination and also from incidental light. These sculptures are thought out and designed not with the idea of lighting potential, but based on a required light source. This requirement brings in a doubling of the shapes because of the quantity of shadows projected, which are an integral part of the work. The space taken up by the sculpture and the projected and incidental shadows double up and distort, but this newly acquired distortion is drawn differently, on an environmental plane.
