The vegetal letters

1983, Vegetal letters. The vegetal letters are part of a body of work of which the first progressive logic is to possess all possible materials, while exploiting to the maximum their own characteristics-folded paper, wood, glass, electricity, concrete, plastic, rags, modeling clay, etc. From 1973 on, the words LETTRE(S), SIGNE(S) et MOT(S) have been declined respectively in these materials.

This work of Alain Satié, composed of a wisteria plant, is a pure example of vegetal Lettrism. In 1999 this work was the object of a film under the title Meca-esthetics of the Wisteria in a production by David W. Seaman.
