Present memories

The nine photographs entitled Present memories, produced in 2006, arise from what some call hypergraphic explorations and others call excoordism ; their goal is to enhance photographs in order to highlight their artistic qualities.

The resulting photographs in this series are deflected from the lineage of Japanese Katagami, treated to resemble childlike paper garlands made by folding paper and cut out to extend the shape indefinitely, through repetition. This technique permits Alain Satié to present the photographs from an original angle, by subjecting his own photography to minute chiseling.

This collection was exhibited in July 2007, at the Atelier Lettrista de Verona, directed by Gérard-Philippe Broutin.
