The clusters

In 1965, at the Cultural Center of Villengen (Germany), he organizes his first show. To this day, Alain Satié has produced more than 300 collective and solo exhibitions.

In 1966, the first exhibition of Clusters (1964 - 1967) was held at the Simone Lolie Gallery in Paris, then in Toulouse in 1967 in their entirety.

The series is divided into two large groups of 30 paintings. Each one is a series of narratives. Each painting is composed of dense black signs and letters, on a white background, overlapping a profusion of small white hypergraphic characters on a black background aligned in a specific configuration and esthetic architecture. Over all its high contrast suggests a profoundly rhythmic and dynamic movement. The two opposites black and white - alpha and omega - pass back and forth and interfere with each other accentuating the general rhythm and inspiring the special force of the series.
