1983-85 Series of transparencies. In the beginning of his research, Alain Satié's first anthological approach was to study the "full" and the "hollow." The pretext of the transparency pierced by hypergraphic elements reveals signs composed of fragments from all around the world. It would be impossible to conceive this in any other way. The object-sign, swallowed up in the illusory depth of a pictorial field, or on the contrary, pushed spectrally to the foreground, suggests an atmosphere so enigmatic, indeed mystical, a sacred universe, both near and far, inaccessible because it is impenetrable.
